Only two days until the class of 2012 arrive on campus. We have a great group of scholar-athletes joining the Pioneers. We have young women from Washington, Illinois, Iowa, and Kansas. The greatest thing about collegiate sports is that every year is unique, a once-in-a-lifetime experience with a group of teammates that will never be assembled again.
This year is especially exciting as new roles will be defined, new players stepping into the spotlight. I can't wait to see who shines.
I have enjoyed seeing this campus come to life over the last two weeks as dorms and classrooms are readied, orientations organized, and athletes return for pre-season practice. There is an excitement mounting about the year to come. Indeed, I can hardly wait for our turn on October 15th.
