2-2 in MWC!

As the Pioneers wrap up the first semester with finals this week, we wanted to give you a rundown of our recent games.

We end 2011 2-2 in the conference, currently sitting 5th. We had a great road victory over Knox College last Wednesday. Knox installed the "system" this year so we faced a very similar defense as the one our men play. We beat the tough full court pressure by playing disciplined offense and limiting our shots to lay-ups and shots in the lane.

Our last MWC contest occurred last Saturday against Carroll University. After leading for almost the whole game, we lost by 2 points in the last minute. It was a heartbreaking game to end the semester with. We did not play with confidence down the stretch, leading to some stupid plays and fouls.

Leading opponents is a new thing for the Pioneers, so learning how to play with a lead, and keep it, is a goal for 2012. It is a great lesson to learn!!

We now head into January! Last year the Pioneers went 5-1, including a four-game winning streak. I'm confident the women will return in great shape, and ready to keep the ball rolling in 2012!
