California

Hello from the west coast! After a week with the softball team I am spending the last part of spring break in California. Despite a slow start for the Grinnell Pie-Eaters, we ended the tournament with two great wins on the diamond. I am slowly learning about the game and feeling more comfortable with the team. I miss the court and the Pioneers though!

We are at the tail end of our admission's process and decisions are about to be sent out. I am very pleased with the new players coming in and I look forward to April 24th, our Accepted Students Reception. This is a chance to get current and new players together on campus in the spring and help those undecided students make their final decision. Our current scholar-athletes host the potential Pioneers and spend the weekend showing them life at Grinnell. It is a chance for me to speak with parents and players and share with them our philosophies and hopes for the future.

I head back to Grinnell tomorrow with dreams of warm weather and the beginning of spring. Unlikely? I think so!
